Banita Nahar, better known as DJ BANI, began her journey in the music industry in April 2018 — and it’s been nearly 6 electrifying years of non-stop growth and sound evolution.
From clubs to luxury hotels, she’s become a familiar name in the party scenes of Guwahati, Shillong, Delhi, and other vibrant destinations. Her sets are known to keep crowds energized till the early hours.
In 2020, she stepped into music production, releasing her own remixes in a variety of styles and genres. DJ Bani’s originality and consistency set her apart — she knows how to read even the most demanding crowd and deliver a memorable experience every single time.
She spins across multiple genres including Hip-Hop, Commercial, House, EDM, and high-energy Bollywood Dance Music (BDM) — all while keeping her signature vibe alive.
With a sharp ear for music, a natural instinct for arrangement, and a deep passion for dance music, DJ Bani doesn’t just play tracks — she owns the party.
When and how did you get into DJing?
I’ve always been a party lover — started clubbing back in 2016, and that’s when my love for DJing really kicked in. The energy, the music, the vibe — I didn’t just want to be on the dancefloor, I wanted to be behind the console. That’s where the journey began.
Do you produce your own music, or remix existing tracks?
Yes, I produce my own music and remix tracks as well — you can check out my work on my page. It’s all about creating sounds that connect with the crowd.
What’s something unique about you that sets you apart from other DJs?
What sets me apart is my ability to communicate and connect with people — both on and off the dancefloor. I’m an excellent communicator, and I find it easy to relate to different kinds of audiences. I’m also constantly working to improve my skills and learn something new every day, which keeps me evolving as an artist. I believe this dedication gives me an edge over others in the field.
What’s your go-to track to get the crowd hyped?
With my energy and the love I get from the crowd, almost any track can turn into a banger — but I always keep a few fire tracks ready to take the vibe to the next level. It’s all about reading the room and hitting them with the right drop at the right moment.

Energetic. Bold. Groovy.
What cities and countries have you performed in so far?
I’ve performed across Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. My journey has mostly covered Eastern and Northeastern India — and I’m now expanding to international stages, starting with United Arab Emirates this year.
Favorite clubs you would love to play or have played?
There are so many amazing venues across India I’ve had the chance to perform at — and many more I still dream of playing. Each city has its own unique vibe, and I love how different audiences respond to the music.
From high-energy nights in metro cities to intimate gigs in unexpected places, I’m always excited to explore new spaces, connect with new crowds, and take the vibe to the next level. The journey has just begun — and there’s so much more to come.
