Based in Hyderabad, DJ Sagar is a seasoned professional DJ and visual artist with over 11 years of experience in the music industry. Known for his signature sets and dynamic video mixing, he has performed at major stages and vibrant local venues. He has also opened for renowned international artists at Club Rendezvous. Beyond the decks, DJ Sagar brings his artistic vision to life through striking visual branding and custom cinematic live visuals. He currently holds a residency at OneGolf Brewery, Hyderabad, one of the city’s hottest venues.
Tell us how your journey as a DJ began.
My journey as a DJ actually started over 11 years ago, born out of a pure love for music and visuals. I was fascinated by how music could completely change the energy of a room. Over time, that passion grew into specializing in audio-visual sets and video DJing, combining big visuals with genres like Hip-Hop, Bollywood/commercialhouse Afro, and Melodic Techno.
It’s been an incredible ride transitioning into the Hyderabad nightlife scene, continually experimenting with new sounds, custom visual concepts, and connecting with people on the dance floor. Looking back, what started as a deep passion for music has turned into a decade-plus career.
What inspired you to pursue DJing professionally?
To be honest, it came down to one thing: I wanted to make people feel something on the dance floor.
I’ve always been drawn to music, but when I discovered how mixing sound with visuals could completely transform a venue, everything clicked. Seeing a crowd get lost in the moment—where the lights, the visual sync, and the heavy bass all align—that’s what hooked me. I knew instantly that I didn’t just want to play music as a hobby; I wanted to build real, memorable experiences for people night after night.
How would you describe your signature sound and what makes it difficult?
My signature sound is all about high-energy, visual-driven journeys. I don’t stick to a single box—I blend everything from Afro Tech and Melodic Techno to Hip-Hop and heavy Bollywood edits.
How do you read a crowd and decide what to play next?
It’s 100% instinct and zero ego. You can have a whole set planned out in your head, but the moment you step up, the floor tells you what it needs.
I watch the room constantly—if people are hesitant, I use familiar vocals or heavy grooves to pull them in. If they’re fully locked in, that’s when I take risks and drop unexpected mashup or familiar music . The key is never staying stuck in one genre; you have to be ready to shift gears
Do you produce your own music, or remix existing tracks?
As of now no.

Immersive. Visual. High-octane.
What are your future goals as a DJ?
My main goal is to push the boundaries of what a live audio-visual set can be. I want to build larger-scale, custom visual productions where the music and visual artwork are completely unified from the ground up—creating unforgettable, headline audiovisual experiences for major festivals and international stages.
Is there a track or style you love playing when the energy needs a boost? Why?
If the floor feels flat, my go-to move is dropping a heavy, unexpected mashup—taking a soulful, recognizable vocal line or Bollywood hook.
