DJ Sid is one of India’s most celebrated DJs, renowned for his unmatched talent, versatility, and impeccable music sensibility. A true OG in the scene, he has shared the stage with top Bollywood artists, acclaimed singers, celebrated sportspersons, and numerous other prominent personalities from diverse fields.
Respected across the industry, DJ Sid is a mixing maestro whose electrifying sets leave a lasting impact on every audience he performs for. He is also the founder of ‘Sounds In Demand’, one of India’s fastest-growing event companies. The company provides top-tier artists for clubs, private events, and corporate shows—both across India and internationally.
Additionally, Sounds In Demand curates customized monthly DJ calendars for clubs in multiple cities across the country, bringing a consistent, high-quality entertainment experience to venues pan-India.
When and how did you get into DJing?
“I’ve always had a deep appreciation for all kinds of music — from Rock to Retro, Hip-Hop to R&B, House to Techno, and everything in between. My playlists have always been a mix of sounds, moods, and eras. But what truly lit the spark in me was listening to DJ Aqeel and DJ Suketu’s iconic remixes and albums. Their ability to blend Indian melodies with international beats felt revolutionary at the time. It was their music that not only inspired me but gave me the push to turn my passion into a profession. In 2001, I took the leap and enrolled in a professional DJ course at DJ Factory in New Delhi — and that’s where my journey officially began.
Do you produce your own music, or remix existing tracks?
I don’t produce my own music yet, but I specialize in remixing and curating powerful sets that blend popular tracks with unexpected twists — creating a unique vibe every time I play.
What’s something unique about you that sets you apart from other DJs?
What sets me apart is the experience and depth I bring to the console. I’ve been part of the DJ scene since 2001, which has given me a deep understanding of music, crowd psychology, and event dynamics. This journey of over two decades has shaped my ability to read the room, adapt seamlessly, and deliver sets that truly connect with the audience.
What’s your go-to track to get the crowd hyped?
Although I focus more on curating events these days, when I’m behind the decks, I love reading the vibe and surprising the crowd. I usually start with something trending — or flip the script with an old-school banger like Jogi by Panjabi MC. Tracks by Yo Yo Honey Singh or Karan Aujla always hit hard too — they bring the energy and get the crowd moving instantly.
What cities and countries have you performed in so far?
I’ve had the opportunity to perform across multiple cities in India, as well as internationally in countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Singapore, and the UK. Each location has added a unique flavor to my journey and helped shape my sound and stage presence.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Eclectic. High-Energy. Refined.
Favorite clubs you would love to play or have played?
The list is definitely long! Over the years, I’ve had the chance to perform at some iconic venues, including RPM, Diablo, LOD’s, Third Eye, Agni, Olive, Mojo, and Peppers — just to name a few. Each club has offered a unique vibe and energy that made every set memorable.
