About Star
Star is a DJ, singer, and music producer based in New Delhi, with over 1,500 live shows to his credit. He is the founder of Skratch DJ Academy and We Are Massive, and has served as the official DJ for prestigious events such as IPL Extra Innings T20, and Pepsi Football T20, as well as numerous national and international government and public functions.
Known for his signature live sets where he sings while DJing, DJ Star has carved a unique niche in the wedding and luxury event space. He also leads a vibrant collective of artists and musicians who perform alongside him, creating immersive entertainment experiences that take every event to the next level.
When and how did you get into DJing?
I began my journey as a DJ at the age of 16 in 2007, after years of learning classical music from my father. Music has always been a part of my life, but discovering DJing was a turning point—I instantly knew it was what I wanted to pursue. In 2009, I founded Skratch DJ Academy to mentor and train young, aspiring DJs and music producers, turning my passion into a platform for the next generation.
Do you produce your own music, or remix existing tracks?
I produce original music as well as remixes, and also perform as a vocalist. A selection of my releases and covers are available online.
What’s something unique about you that sets you apart from other DJs?
I’m known for my high-energy performances, strong stage presence, and ability to connect with the audience. My exposure to diverse global sounds allows me to read the room and channel the right energy at the right time. With a deep understanding of multiple genres, I can effortlessly adapt to any crowd, ensuring every event is engaging, dynamic, and unforgettable.
What’s your go-to track to get the crowd hyped?
I honestly believe nothing can replace Ishq Tera Tadpave by Sukhbir—not for the next 3–4 decades at least. It’s an undeniable classic and the ultimate party starter. No matter the crowd or the setting, that track never fails to light up the dance floor.
What cities and countries have you performed in so far?
I’ve performed across several international destinations including Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, Bali, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Ras Al Khaimah, along with shows in all major cities across India.
